Mr. Fay conducted research in Urumqi on a Fulbright Fellowship, and after that he worked in New York for China Labor Watch, then the Committee to Protect Journalists. He has studied Chinese and Uyghur languages at the University of Hawaii, Indiana University, Duke University in Beijing, CET Harbin and Xinjiang Normal University speaking at a World Affairs Council of Western Massachusetts Instant Issues Brown Bag lunchtime discussion series event.
