A talk given by Dr. Katherine Brown, President and CEO of Global Ties US at our Annual Meeting. Dr. Brown talked about her new book, 'Your Country, Our War: The Press and Diplomacy in Afghanistan' (Oxford University Press, 2019).
'Your Country, Our War' is the first book to review news media dynamics of the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan, America’s longest continuous combat engagement in history.
We also presented our second Sue C. Root Citizen Diplomacy Award to a local organization that had done outstanding work with the Council for the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program and other exchange programs.
